Anxiety

I specialise in working with anxiety. My background in acting has given me a distinct insight into understanding the importance that relaxation techniques play in harnessing anxiety and nerves to find one’s flow and be in the moment as a performer. This experience puts me in a unique position to offer effective, tailored support based on the specific demands of acting, public speaking, sports or any other performance related activity.

I help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns, recognise irrational fears and through hypnosis guide clients to a relaxed state where they are more open to positive suggestions, reinforcing self-confidence and a calm mindset. All leading towards giving the best possible performance in the moment.

Social Anxiety

Do you feel scared and uncomfortable in social situations? Do you feel embarrassed, judged or humiliated in front of others?

Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy is highly effective for social anxiety as it combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques with the relaxed highly focused state of hypnosis to address both the emotional and cognitive aspects of this condition.

FAQs

What if I can’t be hypnotised?

Anyone can be hypnotised, some people are more suggestible than others but this can be improved with practise and training. If you can daydream or become absorbed in a book or movie, you can be hypnotised. We'll work together to find the right approach that helps you feel comfortable and relaxed.

Will I be in a trance?

The misconception that hypnosis is a trance state has been fuelled by stage hypnosis which uses many different tricks; misdirection, deception and peer pressure, all for entertainment. You will not be put into a trance, the techniques I use are researched and evidence based for therapeutic purposes.

Will I lose control during hypnosis?

Not at all. You remain fully aware and in control throughout the entire process. Hypnosis is simply a state of focused attention and relaxation. You can't be made to do anything against your will, and you can bring yourself out of the relaxed state at any time.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies depending on your individual needs and goals. Some clients see significant improvements in just a few sessions, while others may benefit from a longer-term approach. That being said most clients have between 6 to 10 sessions. We'll discuss your progress regularly and adjust the treatment plan as needed.
